PowerBI TV dashboard logs out after 1 hour

Hi all,

I've created a nice PowerBI dashboard for our logistic team to monitor the workload of outbound parcels.
The dashboard is displayed on 3 big tv screens througout the warehouse.
I've embeded this report on our website. So what they basically do is visit the website on the browser of the Samsung TVs, login with their powerBI pro account, and switch the report to full screen.

However, after +-1 hour the dashboard stops working and asks to login again.
I want them to login at 7:00 am and see the dashboard until midnight.  And can't have them login tens of times a day.

Is there a way to make this possible in PowerBI? Or do I need other software/tools?

About the dashboard: Source data = Google BigQuery with Live connection.
PowerBi report is setup on autorefresh every 5 minutes.
The report is published to a workspace with my PowerBI Premium Per User account.
I embeded in an iframe (generated by SHARE>>EMBED REPORT >> WEBSITE OR PORTAL)
Everything is refreshing nicely, only issue is the issue that PowerBI asks to login again after approx. 1 hour.

update: 16-12-2020: I'm the admin of this account, and all settings are on default.  I've tested it on several browsers incl. Edge and so far in every browser the dashboard asks for credentials after some time.  On initial login I get the message 'Stay signed in' and i've always replied that with Yes.

Hi JVH_DA,

We are still having the same issue you described here.  Have you found a solution for this problem yet?  Thanks.

Hi @JVH_DA ,

Or you can use publish to web and it will not ask for authentication to the report.

App owns dataUser Owns Data  is unfortenaly not an option. Since this is just a tiny little dashboard, budget is 100$ pm, not justifying the costs.

Is there a way to stop the cookie from expiring?

Hi @JVH_DA

Chrome or Firefox should also work?

Browser doesn't matter, it does this on both edge as chrome.  Could it be a bug in premium per user?

Hi @JVH_DA ,

If the user broswer cookies for the PowerBI Sign in expired then you will give the login.  After the report is embedded in your web portal, or if a user opens the URL directly, the user is authenticated before they can access to the report. Below, the user has not signed-in to Power BI in the browser session. When they press Sign-In, a new browser window or tab may need to open, so ensure you check for pop-up blockers if you do not get prompted to sign-in. The user needs to sign-in each time they open a new browser window. After they’ve signed in once other reports will load automatically.

You can go for PowerBI embedded solution like App owns dataUser Owns Data for avioding login

Hi @JVH_DA

Could you chat to your network Admin and see if they have any settings on the account to re-authenticate after a certain period of time?

I have my account, which has got the defaults and never asks me to log in again.

What I also have done using Microsoft Edge is when prompted I save the username and password, which auto signs me in. And I click on the prompt to keep me signed in when it comes up.

I'm the admin, everything is on default settings. The tv doesn't have an edge browser.
