PowerBI Map Visual - Display total for regions
I am trying to replicate this in PowerBI with the map visual. Is this possible to create a tooltip for Regions and have the total for multiple states?
Thank you

Hi aishak12
You can follow the steps below
Prepare your Data Model:
- Make sure your data model includes both the 'States' and 'Regions' fields, and that they are correctly related.
- Ensure there is a measure that calculates the total you want to display .
Create a Tooltip Page:
- Go to the 'View' tab and turn on 'Page view' to 'Tooltip'.
- Design this page to include the visuals that will display the aggregated data you want to show in the tooltip. For example, you can use a Card visual to display the total measure you created.
- In the Fields pane, ensure that you add the 'Regions' field to the visual, so it aggregates by region.
Set up the Map Visual:
- On your main report page, add the map visual.
- Add the 'Regions' field to the 'Location' well of the map visual.
- In the map visual's 'Format' pane, go to the 'Tooltips' section.
- Set 'Tooltip' to 'Report page' and then select the tooltip page you created.
Test the Tooltip:
- Now, when you hover over a region in the map visual, it should show the tooltip page you created, which will display the total for all states within that region.
If you'd like to get specific implementation steps, please provide sample data.
