PowerBI Filter Loading

Hi guys,

I was wondering whether there is a faster way of loading simple filters that hold just a few values. Let me explain:

Currently we have a report (a simple table with filters shown below) that works with ~100.000.000 records, which obviously takes a long time (multiple minutes) to load if you do not apply any filter.

If you select multiple filters, it can actually load in just a few seconds. So then there is no problem.

However, we are not able to select any filter options, because First it keeps on loading for multiple minutes before we are even able to select a filter. If we would be able to DIRECTLY select a value without the loading of the filter, everything would work way faster.

The report when opening, 'Month' options to select is loading for 2 minutes.

After 2 minutes we can finally select a month:

~10 seconds later we have our result:

We have a star model with combined 1-directional and bidirectional relationships:

'Month' comes from the dimension 'Tijd', which has a 1-directional relationship. My hypothesis would be first that 1-directional filters would show immediately, because they don't need to be filtered from the big 100.000.000 table. But apparently this is not the case.

Any filters, also from any other table ALL take minutes to view, so for both the 1-directional and bidirectional dimensions.

Is there a way to speed up the revealing of simple filters (from small dimensions, ~10.000 records) in a large model?

Cheers,

Igor
