Hi , @adithyanv

Based on my understanding and research on this product, if your Power BI report is published to the Power BI service, you can make some changes on the visual configurations/formats settings, you can also add some visuals to create some new pages, it means the Power BI service performs as a lightweight report developing tool. But it don't have the data modeling feature such as "Power query" and DAX to created calculated column/tables, so if you have such requirements related to data modeling(relationships between tables) or data transformation requirements, you should consider go back to the Power BI desktop, finishing the requirements developing and republish the report.

Regarding the difference between Power BI desktop/service, please refer to this official document:

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
