Hi,
I have built a Power BI report that is located in a workspace, and published as an app.
The report is built on multiple Excel sheets located in a Microsoft Teams folder, which are edited by around 35 users that are members of the team.
Today I realized that all of the members of the Microsoft Teams team were also suddenly members of the Power BI workspace - while I never intended this to be the case. When I deleted these members from the Power BI workspace, they were also automatically removed from the team in Microsoft Teams, where I could see the following messages (x35):
How can I switch off this connection between Microsoft Teams and Power BI?? I do not want all team members to be able to see the workspace in Power BI - I only want them to be a part of the team in Microsoft Teams.
Thank you in advance for your help!
ditch that workspace altogether and create a new modern workspace in the Power BI tenant.
Thankfully that disruptive behavior of Teams creating a (classic!!!) workspace can now be disabled by your Tenant admin.
This is your chance to engage directly with the engineering team behind Fabric and Power BI. Share your experiences and shape the future.
Check out the June 2025 Power BI update to learn about new features.
