I have created report in report builder(using power BI dataset) and I have published it to service. There are around 5 lakh records in my dataset, but the report i have generated is just a single chart with a parameter of student id .The problem here is when ever i load the report it is giving me a popup of fetching records and loading till 5 lakh records fetched. but am just having only single chart in my report then why it is fetching all 5 lakh records rather than fetching 10 rows or 15 rows that is what the chart is having .

Hi @Anonymous 

When you use the import mode connection in your desktop that means the pbix file will load all the data in the source regardless of the amount of data you use into the visuals. If you want to limit the amount of data loaded then use Power Query to fetch only the 10 or 15 rows you wanted to use.

 I can't limit it to 10 to 15 rows because I want all the data because among all the data i can apply parameter which is using student Id and give the chart having 10 to 15 rows ,with respect to student Id.

Hi, not sure that you understood my point. If you want to limit the number of rows (Therefore the size of your semantic model) to import then you need to use Power Query. I am not in a position to know your semantic model and help you on you can do it. You need to figure it out yourself how you can fetch the rows that you need in Power Query.
