I am wondering if I make a dashboard on the desktop then upload to Power BI Service, will the dashboard on the service be automatically updated to the most recent version pushed by Microsoft ex. Version: 2.91.701.0 64-bit (March 2021)? Or will this be something that I have to manually initiate?
I worry that if I upload the dashboard and it does not automatically update to the most recent version, the uploaded version will eventually become obselete and users will not be able to interact with the dashboard.
I've tried to find info on this but am struggling. Any help is appreciated!

Hi @Anonymous
The Power BI reports and dashboards will always be running the latest version. This is because they are hosted in the Power BI Service, which auto updates in the background.
You do not have to worry about the different versions your reports and dashboards will work.
Hi @Anonymous
Good day,
As far as I know the Power BI Service updates every week, Power BI Desktop Every Month, Power BI Report Server Every 4 month,
so, what ever the version you have in Power BI Desktop, the Power BI Service will have the same or the latest from the desktop version, so don't worry about the version, it will work seamlessly.
Please give kudos (hit the like button) to my answer.
Thanks & Regards,
