Power BI Live Connection Barcode Data Type

Hello,

I have a report that shows the stock value of a product, with cities. I want to use Scanner and Geographical filter properties of mobile app, that is why I want my data to be live.

I have 3 cases:

1- When I choose "Import mode", I can not connect live, I can establish up to 8 time schedule.

2- When I choose "Direct Query", it works but report can not load, it takes too much.

3- When I made report with Analysis Services, I can not choose Barcode data type.

How can I handle it?

@Anonymous helllo, about your question some ideas below:

1- When I choose "Import mode", I can not connect live, I can establish up to 8 time schedule.

     - Using Premium i can set up a 48 time schedule;

     - Could use incremental Refresh.

2- When I choose "Direct Query", it works but report can not load, it takes too much.

     - Use RLS to load only the necessary information, for each city, or group user. Take a look this article to use dynamic RLS with security group in AD. 

3- When I made report with Analysis Services, I can not choose Barcode data type.

    - I Never see something like this using SSAS with barcode type, someone else could help here?

Hi husss,

You should use live connection instead of import mode so that you can achieve live data in power bi service. What does report cannot load mean? What's the error message? Have you configured the data source in "manage gateway" and updated data gateway to the lastes version?

Hello @henriquesilveir, 

Thanks for your ideas. When I try to apply geographical filter on mobile app to my report(choosing "only Istanbul" option), it was taking so much to load, but when I change the filter as "only Buyukcekmece"-it is a county of Istanbul- it worked, and I decided to go on this way.
