Hi,
I implemented Row-Level Security into a customer report using below.
The EndUser being a user email.
The report is filtering fine when tested using the View as Roles on the Desktop App.
The report is then embedded on a customer website.
User then logs in passing entering their email and password, although the filtering is not working instead returning the whole unfiltered report.
The following is being passed through to the embedded report from the dashboard.
If anyone could help to check is there a step missing here?
Thanks,
James
Hi @Anonymous ,
Have you tried to use a measure = USERNAME() to check if the username are passed successfully and matched? Does filter in another table work when using other roles (with constant filter)?
If you are embedded with a service principal, Could you please try to add the service principal entity as a viewer to your workspace?
If you are using Token-based Identity, Please also consider the limilation mentioned in this document.
Best regards,
Hi,
I tested in the desktop using the view as roles and everything worked as intended. It's just when the report is embedded.
We're using a token based entity. We pass one of two emails to the report ie "emailOne@gc.ie" , "emailTwo@gc.ie". These are EndUsers we hold in a table aand not service users.
When passing these no matter what Username is sent we receive back the unfiltered report.
Im a bit stuck on this one.
Thanks,
James
