Possible to move others my workspaces to capacity using powerbi rest api

Hi All,

I referred the below article

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/capacities/groups-assign-my-workspace-to-capacity, it
is saying that we can move my workspace to capacity. Here my concern is i can move only my workspace to capacity or others my workspace also.

Thanks in advance

That specific API will assign only your my workspace to the capacity.

You can use this to assign a specific workspace to the capacity: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/capacities/groups-assign-to-capacity

There is also an admin API can that can acomplish the same if you are an admin:

I believe this is the one: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin/capacities-assign-workspaces-to-capacity

The only caveat is that you will need to know the workspace ID.

In order to run Power BI Rest API,Is it necessary to register application for power BI in azure portal.

Based on the documentation, yes:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/#scopes

Although, I believe you can call them yourself using the "Try it" from the docs or powershell.

Different API's also may require different scopes or permissions.
Those are listed at the top of each API doc page.
