I have 2 Power BI Reports with embedded Paginated Reports. Users used to have access to them through an App (without access directly to the workspace).
It worked until Christmas because I had users using both reports.
Now, users can navigate from a Power BI Report to an embedded Paginated Report only if they have access to the workspace (it can be a Viewer access). When accising the paginated report receiving following message:
"Sorry we couldnt find the report. It may have been deleted or you may not have access to view it".
After adding user as a viewer to Workspace it works.
I am having exactly the same problem - my end user can only view the paginated report if they are added to the workspace as a 'Member'
The user definitely has
- a pro licence
- has been added to the app permissions
- app has granted access to the underlying data
From within the workspace, when I click the elipses, then manage permissions, I have added the user to the paginated report permissions, then repeated the same for the reports source dataset.
However, the user is still getting the following error:
Unable to render paginated report

Any help appreciated
Turns you need to apply an additional layer of permissions on the paginated report artifact itself. You can still use Azure Security Groups. Having acces to the app is one thing, but then in the workspace, click on the paginated object elipses..anage permissiions and add your group/user there. Ive tried it. It definitely works.
Hi @aggisss
And you have double checked to make sure that they got access to the app?
Have you tried to remove them, update the app and add them back in again?
Yes, They have permission to the dataset.
Hi @aggisss
Yeah that sounds like something has changed.
Do the users have read permissions to the underlying dataset from where the paginated report gets its data? That might also be something to look at.
