Paginated report - Create dataset based on another dataset

Is it possible to create a new dataset that is based on another dataset? I am thinking about something LookupSum function that would create a new summary dataset.

I learned a new word the other day - nesting depth. Apparently in Power BI Composite model world it is currently set to 4.  So yes - you can do that. BUT - it gets ugly fast, and has hard limits.
