Open Power BI Services using another domain account to Test Role Level Security

Hi  everybody, trust you all are doing well 🙂
I have implemented role level security for SQL Server. I have unit tested it in SQL engine side and it is working well. I have also implemented it in Power BI and been able to verify it is working fine when running the reports in Power BI desktop. Now, I would like to deploy the reports to Power BI service. How can I test that the role level security is also working there before opening the report to all users, meaning how can I change the user opening the report in Power BI Services? Thanks in advance!

I found a video that shows how to make Power BI to apply the Row Level Security implemented in the source and how to unit test it. Just in  case anybody is interested. Thanks!!!!

Hi  @beobregon

Please check the Micorosoft link on how to test row level security from Power BI Service. We can only test the user within current domain. Testing row level security for users in different domain is not available as per my understanding.

Thanks,

Pallavi

Hi Pallavi, first of all, thanks so much for replying!!

Pallavi, the link that you sent is for testing Row Level Security define in Power BI, I would like to test Row Level Security define to the database Level (in SQL Server) and would like to check if this is honored by Power BI based on the user that run the report in Power BI Service. Thanks!
