New hierarchy slicer when set to dropdown works fine in desktop but not on the web

New hierarchy slicer when set to dropdown works fine in desktop but not on the web.  My slicer has multiple levels (Year, Qtr, Month) and is set as dropdown.  This works well on PBI desktop.  But on the web, the slicer appears like a list with a vertical scroll bar.

Hi there

What happens if you edit the report on the web and then reset it again?

Hi GilbertQ,

When edited on the web, the slicer keeps its state, dropdown only after saving but before refreshing the browser.  A browser refresh just turns it back to a list.  I got excited when it stayed as a dropdown after saving.  Unfortunately, the issue comes back after a browser refresh.  Thanks for the suggestion Gilbert.  It was worth checking. 😊

Hi GilbertQ,

The fix was there.  When I refreshed the browser, the slicer switched to list again.  But when I hit "Reset to default", then it shows the slicer as dropdown.  Thank you!👍 😊 I will use this fix in the meantime.  Hopefully the PBI team fixes this issue soon.  I really liked the ability to have hierarchical check boxes in a dropdown slicer.  Saves a lot of space.

Hi there

Thanks for letting me know.

One trick is when you make changes make sure to set the "Reset to Default" button back to the defaults.

I have found that on a few occasions this causes things to not be displayed correctly.

Hi GilbertQ,

As I didn't want to have to do this fix each time I republish, I tried downloading the fixed pbix from the web, opened it in PBI desktop, made some minor modifications, and republished.  The slicer remained as dropdown.  It looks like the fix that the web editor did is permanent and stayed in the pbix file.  Just want to mention that I got the warning message below which I just ignored.  The pbix still opened in PBI desktop.
