Hi,
I have connected a report in the PowerBI desktop with another report that is already published and everything is working properly.
published report
However, when I publish the new report in the https://app.powerbi.com/ , I need to create a new data source.
Altough i fill in all the required data, an error occurs as per attached screenshot.
You valuable assistance will be highly appreciated.
Thank you
Dear @v-yueyunzh-msft thank you for your feedback.
However, the issue still persists and the same error occurs.
Please note the following points, in case I am missing anything:
I would appreciate your further assistance on this.
Thank you
Hi , @technologyLMM
Based on your error message, you can check for the following restrictions:
To be able to make a DirectQuery connection to a Power BI dataset, your tenant needs to have "Allow XMLA Endpoints and Analyze in Excel with on-premises datasets" enabled.
For premium capacities, the "XMLA endpoint" should be set to either "Read Only" or "Read/Write".
For more limitations , you can refer to this document:

Thank you for your reply.
The "Allow XMLA Endpoints and Analyze in Excel with on-premises datasets" is already enabled and the same error continues to exist.
Could you please advise if I am missing anything else? I have PowerBi pro subscription.

Hi , @technologyLMM
You can see the "View Linkage" of the dataset , if the datasouce is related to the dataset in your workspace, like this:
When we want to refresh the second dataset, we can see that the dataset is associated with the first dataset(it just like a cloud data source), so we only need to configure the credentials for the first dataset in "Data Source Credential" (We need to have build permissions for the first dataset).
We can click "Edit credential" and choose "OAuth2" and then login our Power BI account.
If the second dataset is connected to another data source, we need to add data source credentials for the data source as appropriate.
