New Sorting Options?

Hello,

Has anyone noticed anything different on published reports with the sorting option on charts? I had a few published reports using the line and clustered column chart being sorted by a measure I created called "Good Deal Percentage". I logged into Power BI today to do my daily data check and now the charts are sorting differently and are only able to sort by the Axis and Legend. The custom measure is showing in the legend but I cannot sort by it. Maybe there's a way to turn this off? (see photo below)

When I download the PowerBI file and open it in the Desktop version, I see the normal sorting options (Sort descending, Sort ascending, Sort by). This is what I need to see on the online version of Power BI. It used to alwasy be this way but I just noticed it changed today for me.  (Below photo is the desktop version)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Anorak ,

”Unable to sort Line and stacked or column chart by line value.“

This issue will been fixed on 12/5/2021 and you may log back into Power BI to view the report and try it again.

Hope it helps,

@Anorak It is part of the November 2021 release of the Desktop, you need to upgrade to that.

DAX For Humans

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

@Greg_Deckler so I downloaded the new Power BI update that released on 11/15/2021 and I now am able to sort by the custom measure I created (Good Deal Percentage). Like I said above, I am using a line and clustered column chart and the custom measure is in the 'Line values' field of the visual. As you can see in the screenshot I will post below, I can now sort by this custom measure with the new sorting method but this is only possible in the desktop version. When I publish the dashboard to a workspace on the online version of Power BI, I cannot sort by the custom measure. This is very frustrating and is breaking every visual that sorts on a custom measure.
