Natural Language Query

Hi All,

I am relatively new to Power BI and want to know whether power BI supports Natural Language Queries and also can translate any dashboard to intelligent narratives for the user.

ALso what are the queries, processes, algorithms behind the scenes whih help accomplish these.

Any articles or links will be really helpful.

Regards

Hi there! Welcome to Power BI. Yes, Power BI does support natural language queries through the Q&A visual, which lets you type questions and get answers from your data. For intelligent narratives, you can use the ""Smart Narrative"" visual to generate summaries automatically.

Behind the scenes, it uses a mix of natural language processing and your data model's structure to interpret questions and fetch results. If you're looking for a more customizable and embedded solution that works without extra licenses, you might find PowerMind interesting, it's built to add AI Q&A directly into dashboards. You can see a quick demo of how it works here:

Hi @Mystery,

You can refer to Use Q&A in Power BI Desktop for natural language queries.

And Power BI backend is handle by SSAS Tabular Model engine, we need to run a profiler for that tabular instance. In order to find out the background SSAS Tabular instance, Open Task Manager and look for “Microsoft SQL Service Analysis Service” in running task list. Foe more details, please check the third - party blog.
