Move content page from report to new section in power bi app

Hi all,

I am creating a new app in power bi service with 2 different reports (one report has 15 pages, the other only has 1 page).

When I get to the "Content" step, I go to add my reports, where there I would think I can then add new section.

Now, how do I move a handful of the 15 pages from my report to the new section (lets say I have called the new section "Graphs")?

I seem to only be able to move the report which has 1 page to the new section...

Will I have to create a new report for each page so that I can format it within the app?

Any help will be greatly appreciated! 🙂

Hi @clock0928 ,

Perhaps you could make a dashboard of the content you need, since it can accept multiple report content, and then you add this dashboard to the app.

Hope it helps!

Sections are used to group reports.

Reports are used to group pages.

Reports are joined with their models by default but can be split.

Recommendation:

  • Make a copy of your PBIX file.
  • Go into the Transform data and remove all queries. Hit close and apply.  Stuff will break but thats ok
  • Remove any manual tables, calculation groups etc.  You want an empty model.
  • In Home menu select 'OneLake Data hub' -> 'Power BI'.  Locate your data model and select it.  This will create a live connection.  If you are using a deployment pipeline, use the Development version.

Now you have a report that is modelless.   Remove the report pages you don't want and this will act like you "Section".  The only limitation is that you can only do this for a single model.
