Missing publish to web function, published before but not anymore

I signed up individual power bi account using this method

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-signing-up-for-power-bi-with-a-new-off...

I was able to pulish a report sample to web on March 2021, as of now the report still working as usual. However, I lost the option to publish to web, I tried on other report and there are no such option too. I followed the guildance from communiy post but still can't fix it. Appreciate if anyone can offer any insight.

As of 8/4/2021, the option is gone.

Setting is the same as before. I am member of the "security testing" group

As you can see this was the record where I published to web

I found out the reason why I can't publish to web, for a very silly and buggy reason. I don't know why Microsoft made it such troublesome. While I trying to publish my report to web through various other alternative option, such as through PowerPoint using OneDrive to embed, I went back to edit my report in Power BI Service and found out that in edit mode, the publish to web button is there! But is not available via the Share button in reading view when I encounterred the issue. Funny thing is once I saved and publish the report to web in edit mode, I go back to reading view and publish to web option finally show itself!

I hope this will help anyone who faced similar funny buggy issue

Hi. Can you tell us a bit more about the report? (data sources, special features like rls)

If you want to check it these are the documented limitations that will remove the Publish To Web option from a report.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-publish-to-web#limitations

Hope that helps,

Thanks for offering a helping hand. The database is ContosoDW from Microsoft, I restore it to Microsoft SQL Server then connect to Power BI using import mode. I done some denormalization in sql server using VIEW, then import those VIEWs into Power BI. All my visuals are native, none of it are custom.

Things I checked:

  • No RLS
  • No Live Connection, I'm using import mode
  • Not using shared dataset, I have only single workspace
  • No shared and certified dataset
  • Report is not shared to me / through app. Report is created by me.
  • Im the owner of the report in my workspace, obviously Im the edit member
  • No R & Python visuals
  • Did not export data from visuals published to web
  • Not using ArcGIS Maps
  • No Q&A visuals
  • No report-level DAX measures
  • No single sign-on data query models. Im using import mode.
  • Not sure what is "Secure confidential or proprietary information." but Im quite certain its not due to this
  • Not sure what is "Power BI JavaScript API" things, I published to web before so its safe to say its not due to this
  • Im the global admin, I did not block public internet access.
