Hello everyone! I'm facing an issue regarding semantic model access. My colleague has a Free Licence Type and me a Pro Licence Type. I have granted all permissions to him so that he can open and work on the desktop file of a report that uses the semantic model of another report. He used to work on it just fine and out of the blue and without changing anything he encountered this error message.
We tried to troubleshoot it by removing his access and granting access again, clearing cache, making sure that the dataset isn't hidden, confirming that the Power BI admin tenant settings allow external connection, but none of this worked. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks for your time and help
Solved! Go to Solution.
I would suggest checking with your organizations Power BI admin. They may have changed a setting without communicating to you.

Hi @annamaria_kapla Could you confirm if your organization supports Free users connecting to Pro datasets (via shared capacity or Premium capacity). If not then you would have to upgrade your friends License type
Yes, the organization supports free users to our premium capacity. Thanks for the help. I' ll take a look again if any setting has been changed without being communicated.
