We have a requirement to segregate the Reports in the Power BI service.
Can anyone please let me know as I could not find the option to create folders in Power BI Service?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Creating folders within a workspace isn't feasible . You may switch to lineage view which shows reports grouped on datasets they use. While publishing apps you may group them in Navigation .
Hi Everyone,
This issue is resolved now. In March 2024 release, Microsoft has introduced an option to create a folder in workspace to organise your PowerBI items.
Note - It is in public preview so there are some limitations but Microsoft team is working on it.
Enjoy!!
Thank you for mentioning this! Would you please elaborate on where we can find and use this option? Thanks.
Hi @KimberlyK ,
I am really sorry for the late reply. Somehow I missed your comment. I don't know if you got the details or not. But here I will explain all the steps in detail.
Note - Now this option is not in Public preview and this feature is available on Power BI service.
To create a folder in a Power BI workspace, click on workspace in the Power BI service, click "+ New", and select "Folder". Give the folder name and click "Create".
I am using "My workspace" for this example.
Now you can move/add power BI items like report, semantic model inside this folder. You can follow same process to create sub folder.
Please let me know if you need any additional details.
