In the past few weeks one of our datasets has been throwing frequent yet intermittent errors on refresh from a Google Big Query data source. This seems to only happen once the dataset is published, never in desktop. The error message doesn't give me much to go one truth be tolde
The errors started in late January.
ERROR [HY000] [Microsoft][DSI] An error occurred while attempting to retrieve the error message for key 'GHighThroughputApiError' with message parameters ['Error: { code: UNKNOWN, message: Stream removed }'] and component ID 100: Message not found in file "D:\MWC\WorkloadPackages\AS\2023.1.5.21\valid\MDataEngine\ODBC Drivers\BigQuery\en-US\SimbaBigQueryODBCMessages.xml". </ccon>. The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. Table: Web Engagement.
The data being returned is not complex or extensive - a little over 2 million rows and from a query in GBQ takes 12 seconds to return.
Has anyone experienced something similar with Google Big Query connectivity and refresh and how did you troubleshoot and resolve?
Thanks for your help!
Hello @JenAbe,
It sounds like you're encountering an error with the refresh process of your Power BI dataset connected to Google BigQuery. This error specifically mentions a failure to retrieve an error message related to the GHighThroughputApiError.
Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
These steps should help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue you're facing with the Google BigQuery data source in Power BI.
Let me know if you might need further guidance.
4. Restart the Power BI service: Try restarting the Power BI service to see if that resolves the issue.
3. Try a manual refresh: Manually refresh the data in Power BI Desktop and check if it resolves the error. If it does, you can schedule a manual refresh in the Power BI service.
2. Verify the credentials: Make sure that your Power BI account has the necessary permissions to access the Google BigQuery data source. You can also try creating a new connection to the source and verifying the credentials.
1. Check your Google BigQuery API quota: It is possible that your API quota is being exceeded, which is causing the error.
You can check the API quota in the Google Cloud Console and request an increase if needed.
