Incremental Refresh on Lakehouse

Can we implement incremental refresh on fabric lakehouse?

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi @powerbiexpert22

Yes, it is possible to use fabric lakehouse as a source to achieve incremental refresh in Power BI.

Here are the steps to implement incremental refresh in Power BI using fabric lakehouse as a source:

In the Power BI service, create or open a workspace.

In the workspace, select New > Lake House and enter a name and settings for the lake house.

In Lake House, select the SQL Analysis endpoint to view or create the data table you need.

In the Lake House, select the model to open the default Power BI semantic model.

In the semantic model, relationships between different data tables are defined to facilitate cross-table analysis and visualization.

In the semantic model, select incremental refresh and configure the refresh strategy and parameters you need.

In the semantic model, select Reports to create or edit the Power BI report you need.

In Reports, select Publish to publish your report to the Power BI service.

Hi @powerbiexpert22

Incremental refresh is a feature that allows you to load only new or updated data into your data destination, such as a lakehouse. This can improve the performance and efficiency of your data pipelines.

you can use a watermark column to slice the new or updated records for every run, and then copy them from your Data Warehouse to your lakehouse. You can also use a query to filter the data based on the data destination.
