Incremental Refresh Error Timeout (Unable to complete Tabular transaction)

Hi guys,

I got the timeout error when doing the incremental refresh on PBI service. The refresh was scheduled daily and it was successful in the last 3 days. Today it's failed with the timeout error (after 5-6 hours).

When I tried to track the refresh by Server Profiler, it's showing the error "Unable to complete Tabular transaction" for some tables partitions. I'd appreciate if anyone can help me with this since it's urgent.

Some additional information: my data source is on Snowflake and I don't use any gateway. I also had Caching query enabled on the dataset.

Thank you and have a good day.

The default Power BI Service timeout is 5 hours - sounds like you hit that. Most of the time this is an issue with the data source (in your case Snowflake).  Check for performance issues at the source or for locks caused by competing read and write activities at the source.
