Hey everyone,
I have a question that I could not find the answer for on the internet.
I have a PowerBI DataSet (data set that lives on PowerBI service) and with my current license, PowerBI pro, I can only use this DataSet with a direct query.
I would like to use this DataSet as an import query since I was to mix and match with other data sources and also be able to schedule the refresh.
I have read a post and seen a video from radacad that shows you can make it happen with a premium license.
Currently there are two types of premium license: Premium per User and premium per Capacity. Do you know which one wil suffice to manage to use the PowerBI DataSet as an import query?
Best,G
Giorgio

Are you referring to using the XMLA endpoint? If that's what you mean, then it's available with both PPU and premium capacities:

Hi @Gsar
You can have either Power BI premium or premium per user.
If you connect Power BI dataset in Power BI desktop then it will be connected to Live connection and using the XMLA endpoint you can change the live connection to direct query dataset and then can add other sources but you can't convert the Power BI dataset as import model.
Thanks
Hari
Hey Hariharan,
Actually you can. With the XMLA endpoint link, I used as connector the analysis services with the import query mode and it worked like a charm:)
