Issue: My data is collected in excel-files that are stored on a MS Sharepoint-site.
However, some excel-files just do not refresh the normal way. No errors, it just doesn't update. This makes relying on data tricky. Can this be solved??
The only work-around is manual right click on the table in PBI-Desktop and choose "data refresh". and then re-publish.
Other weird findings:
- some excel-files update fine, others don't. I suspect the more complex files give these problems.
- I can refresh in the Query editor but then the new data is gone once I save the changes.
Hi @hulsbergenw
Your data is stored in SharePoint, so it will excute OneDrive refresh, If you edit the .csv file in OneDrive, or SharePoint, after you save, those changes will appear in Power BI, usually within about an hour. Any visualizations in Power BI based on the dataset are automatically updated. You can refer to the following link.

Hi @v-xinruzhu-msft ,
Thanks for your advice. However this is not what I mean. They refresh in Sharepoint just fine, but it does not refresh in Power BI!
The only way to refresh the files in PBI is to go to PBI-desktop, right-click the table and then select "refresh" and re-upload.
I connect to the files via "web" interface that connects to the online location.
