Hi all!
In a workspace, I create an app to allow two users to properly view Dashboard A, not see Dashboard B, and correctly view a portal — that is, a dashboard containing links to these two reports. How do I do this?
When the user accesses the portal and clicks the link to the report they have access to, they should only be able to see that report, without being able to view the other reports available through the app. How can I achieve this? Do I still need the portal if I already have an app?

The real way to do this is to put the reports into the App. Do not give either user access to the Workspace. Then, in the App, create two audiences. Put user A and Report A into Audience A and put User B and Report B into Audiience B. That will keep them separate and accopmlish your goals.

To achieve this, you can follow these steps:
Separate Workspaces (if needed): To properly control access, it's helpful to place Dashboard A and Dashboard B in different workspaces. This ensures you can set permissions at the workspace level, limiting users to the specific reports and dashboards they are authorized to view.
Create the App with Specific Access: When you build the app, include only the reports (such as Dashboard A) that you want users to have access to. You can adjust the app’s permissions so that only designated individuals or groups can access particular reports within it.
Implement Row-Level Security (RLS): If both dashboards share the same dataset, consider using Row-Level Security (RLS) to control the data visibility for different users. This ensures users only see the data they are permitted to access, even if they have access to the same report.
Manage Access via the Portal: While the portal can be helpful for organizing and offering additional features, you’ll need to manage permissions at the report level. Ensure that only the relevant reports (like Dashboard A) are accessible through the portal. If the app already meets your needs for managing access, you might not require the portal at all.
Exclude Unauthorized Reports: In the app, avoid including Dashboard B for users who shouldn’t see it. You have the ability to customize the app’s navigation, so just ensure Dashboard B is not included for users who don't need access to it.
