How to collect dashboard rating from end-users

Hi guys.

I will keep it simple.

I would like to - somehow - collect data from end-users in a form of rating of the dashboards created.

Example question:

How would you rate the data quality (is there any data in this dashboard that is not correct?)

The idea is to include this feedback/rating on a page in the dashboards for end-users to see other comments/ratings.
I would also be able to use the feedback to improve on areas that needs it.

Is this possible?

Hi @Lorentzen

You can create an online Microsft Form for Excel on Sharepoint and place the hyperlink in a text. Something like this:

Please rate my dashboard!

Your users will be able to click on that link and it will redirect them to a forms and they can enter whatever your form has. Then, you can add Sharepoint as a new data source, and use the Excel file where all the responses are and use that as your new dataset.

To connect to Sharepoint, refer to this link:

Hi @Lorentzen,

If you're looking for a more integrated and seamless way to collect ratings and feedback directly within your Power BI dashboards, I highly recommend using the Power BI User Feedback Pro custom visual. It’s designed specifically to gather ratings and comments from end-users in real time, making it a perfect fit for your use case.

Here’s how Power BI User Feedback Pro can help:

  1. In-Dashboard Feedback: Users can rate the data quality (or any other aspect of the dashboard) directly within the Power BI report, without needing to navigate to an external form or page. The rating can be set up on a 1-5 star scale, and users can also leave comments, making it very easy to collect qualitative feedback as well.

  2. Real-Time Insights: The feedback is collected in real-time and sent directly to Azure Application Insights. You can then use these insights to analyze areas of improvement or identify any potential data issues.

  3. Customizable: You can configure the visual to fit your needs, from changing the rating scale to customizing the appearance of the feedback dialog.

  4. Display User Feedback: You can also choose to display aggregated feedback or individual ratings/comments to other users, creating a collaborative space for feedback and improving transparency.

This solution eliminates the need for external tools like Microsoft Forms or SharePoint, offering a more seamless experience within Power BI.
