How to backup dataflows?

Hi,

We have started using dataflows extensively, and I am concerned that a dataflow could accidentaly be deleted or changed with no way to reverse it. Is there no built-in way to recover a dataflow in case of accidental deletion, or recovering a previous version in case this is required?

We have considered simply copying the scripts and saving them locally using a text editor, but it seems cumbersome to manage. We have also tried using Power BI desktop to build the scripts and then copy them over to dataflows, but this is also a lot of extra steps every time we need to make a minor change to the dataflow.

Appreciate any advice!

Hi @magnus_b ,

There is no way to recover a dataflow that has been deleted. You can make a copy of the dataflow in advance.

Thank you! I was not aware of this option. This is simple enough that it will do the trick. We will just export .json files at a regular interval to keep a backup.
