How do I add a date slicer to dashboard (not report)

I have several reports from which I pinned the key data to a dashboard. While the dashboard tiles come from different reports, they are all linked to the same data source.

I am trying now to find a way to add a date slicer and I didn't find any helpful tutorial or post specifically for dashboards. 

Can anyone help me with this?

Dashboards are non-interactive. They are designed for passive consumption. If you click on a dashboard tile that will take you back to the underlying report page.
