How can I use a data source that queries a private web application?

Hello,

I have built a power bi desktop dashboard that queries (via http requests) a web application that is installed within our company environment (not public).

Now I would like to have this report "online", publishing it. However, in order this data to be updated I need to RDP to the VM from which I've built this report, refresh it and publish it manually.

Is there any way (e.g. via on-premises data gateway) to automate this refresh? If so, how?

yes, add the web connection to your on-premises gateway. Make sure to mask any dynamic parts of the URL via the RelativePath and Query options.
