Hi there!
I'm working on a project for a customer where the data ended up coming from various Excel sheets.
(The data will be refreshed approximately once a year from here on)
I'm thinking how it would be best to turn in this project / hand it over to them.
That is, would it be best to add the documents containing the data to their OneDrive and switch out the data source? So it's not coming from a local Excel sheet. Maybe it's not essential if the data is refreshed so rarely? I reckon I'd help them with their data refresh once a year.
Thanks in advance!
You will want to move the files to their SharePoint Online environment if it's available and swap out the path references. I did a couple tutorials on how to update the query to point to SharePoint, one for changing individual file references and one for the folder connector references.
Hi. Usually, the recommendation of using excel is hosting them at Sharepoint or Onedrive to keep the refresh at cloud and let the posibilidy to modify the file for multiple users.
In this case, even though they want the refresh once a year, the idea of building the best practice for excel is always better. That way if they need to refresh it one day or they start a new project with excel, the adoption of the flow or how to handle the data is already in their minds.
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
