Getting error when using Sharepoint as source for dataflow

First time trying SP as data source for dataflows.

When I'm using these settings: Data Gateway: None, Authentication Kind: MS Account, and then try logging in to my MS account, I get the following error (cookies are enabled):

LocalStorage is being blocked. Please enable local storage and try signing in again. Depending on your browser, this may require enabling cookies or trackers for this site.

However, when I try to use an existing gateway and use either Anonymous or Windows account as the authentication kind, I get a "Unexpected error" message.

Is there any way I can resolve this?

In my case it was because my browser settings were blocking pop-ups. this was resolved by allowing pop-ups in site settings for https://app.powerbi.com which required refreshing the page. Then the authentication pop-up can be shown and complete the process successfully.

I tested getting data from SP according to this tutorial, and it works OK, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-sharepoint-online-list

so it seems that this error does not always appear.

I also searched the error, and was told to enable localStorage firstly.
