Gateway related error when creating a dataflow

Hello

I am getting the below error when trying to create an entity for my dataflow using SQL Server as the data source -

Does any change need to happen on gateway like adding my user id under users or anything else?

Regards

Hi @Anonymous ,

It is true. You can refer to this official document.

To use an on-premises data source in a dataflow, any user creating the dataflow must have an Enterprise Gateway installed and configured. The user creating the dataflow also must be the Enterprise Gateway's administrator in order to use that gateway for a dataflow.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I have tested on my side, and it works well.

I'm the admin of the SQL Server and the gateway. And both of them are installed on-premises.

Some questions:

1. Are you an admin of the gateway you use? Or, do you have access to use the gateway?

2. Are you an admin of the SQL Server? Or, do you have access to the SQL Server?

3. Can you add the SQL Server and database successfully under the gateway you have access?

Please refer to this document and try it.

Best Regards,

Icey

@Icey , thanks for reply

Answers to your questions -

1. I am not an admin of the gateway. I do have access to gateway as I am able to schedule the dataset refresh using the same SQL server database.

2. Again, I am not an admin of SQL Server. I do have access to SQL Server database

3. SQL Server and database are already added to this gateway; as I said that I have already datasets which are using this gateway and this data source for scheduled refreshes.

My questions -

1. I had read somewhere that it is compulsory to be admin of gateway if we want to use the gateway with dataflow. Is that true?

If so, that could be the reason I am not able to access it.
