Gateway connection

We have 2 cloud servers (App and Data base servers hosted by amazon).
Both are in the same domain/group. We installed the gateway in the app server.

The app server has open ports so we can access via internet.
Is it possible to use power bi desktop connected to the apps server that has the gateway installed?

Hi @mbarkle,

Do you want to connect to the Gateway data sources from Power BI Desktop? If that is the case, it is not possible. There is an idea about this issue in the ideas forum, please vote it up.

Currently, you are able to connect to your original data sources in Power BI Desktop, create reports there, then publish reports to Power BI Service and use gateway to refresh the published dataset.
