Hi!
I need to find a way to export data from multiple PowerBI reports into Excel.
The "export data" option on a visual provides what's needed, but the problem is that it doesn't work if the report has measures created on top of a live dataset connection (which is exactly what most of my visuals have).
Is there a plan to remove this limitation?
Thanks for the reply, Neeko! However, I'm afraid that doesn't solve my problem.
I may not have emphasized it enough, but it's the measures calculated in the report on top of the live connection to the dataset that are giving me trouble. Measures that don't exist in the underlying dataset, only in the report.
I can export other visuals that don't have such measures, no problem. But for report-level measures the tool is giving me a pretty specific error message. That's why I frame the question as a feature request.
And no, I can't work around those measures, eg remove them from the visual - the whole point of the export I'm trying to do is to capture those report-calculated measures, since they don't exist elsewhere.
Hi @ersted ,
I'm sorry I misunderstood what you meant before. As you said, this is a limitation.
You can submit an idea for it at Home (microsoft.com) and wait for users with the same needs as you to vote for you to help make it happen as soon as possible.

Hi @ersted ,
I have a dataset in live connection mode and it exports data normally. You can check if the following settings are turned on:
(1)Make sure to enable the export of underlying data sets in the desktop settings.
(2) Then check whether the export of xlsx files is enabled in the portal settings.
