Hi, were you able to find a solution? I've used the Salesforce connector but I had some issues with my data too. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor.  Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Could you please try to verify if the same account can access salesforce? Could you please try to create another dataflow using the same credential?

Please don't have any Confidential Information or Real data in your reply.

Hi @v-lid-msft ,

Many thanks for looking into this issue

I have tried to create a brand new dataflow with Salesforce objects but no luck. I am getting the same error unabe to connect to data source.

However I can able to create dataset based on Salesforce objects on PowerBI desktop with the same credentials.

This is clearly a service issue and happening from 15th Dec 2019 and suspect this is related to MS Power BI global maintenance, happened on the same day.

We have raised a premium ticket with MS, but the support is very very poor.

Our users need up-to-date data for year end reporting.

As scheduled refresh is not working, we have converted all Salesforce related dataflow queries into a single dataset, refreshing manually every 3 hours on desktop and publishing to Power BI service.

This issue creating a lot of work for our developers and everytime Power BI update happens a few features were breaking and wait 2 to 3 weeks for the fix.

Best Regards,

Hi @Anonymous ,

Could you please try to create a test report connecting salesforce in desktop, publish it to service, then configure the same credential in the service for scheduled refresh?Currently there are several similar situation where it can not even create credential for Salesforce dataset in Power BI Service .
