Fabric - issue adding destination in dataflow

I created a simple Dataflow Gen2 extracting data from a table. I now want to load this data into Fabric warehouse (which I also created). However I am get the following error: "An exception occurred: The given data source kind is not supported. Data source kind: Warehouse." when trying to add destination in the dataflow. Do you have any ideas what could be the cause?

Hi

Can you try to create a gateway and use it from dropdown see if that works?

Thanks!

I am loading into a Warehouse wich is a service inside of Fabric. I do not think gateway is applicable here. (Data source mentioned in the message actually refers to target database)

Hey @dnytro ,

I must admit that I do not fully understand your scenario, please explain what your data source is.
For now my understanding is the data source is a table of a Fabric warehouse, and you want to create a table in the same warehouse using a dataflow gen 2, e.g., extracting the distinct product keys of a fact table and creating a product dimension table.

Regards,

Tom

The source is an ODBC connection which gets data throug a gateway. That part works fine, I am getting the data. But when I click Add data destination and trying to configure it to be Fabric warehouse, I am getting the above error after selection Warehouse as destination. "Data source" in the error message is probably missleading, it refers to data target, not the source.

The same scenario with the same source and a warehouse as target worked in a different tenant. I could not figure out the difference.

Yes, that was my understanding that we don't need to create or use gateway for cloud resources. For me, we had to create a connection for Lakehouse ODBC and use it to resolve the issue. You can try and see if it works for you as well.

@dnytro The cause is that it is in preview and stuff just flat out doesn't work.
