External users can't see the content

Hi to all,

we have a report PBI published to a workspace with Capacity Premium P1. We've been giving access to this report (which has also RLS) thorugh an App to users external to our organization. It've been working correctly all the last year.

Yesterday we've been asked to enable a new user, of a company that already has users who can access. We did the same way we did for other users (enable to the App, insert the user in the correct role, update the App), but it's not working. The user is connect to app.powerbi.com, but get's an error that can't access the App.

We tried with another user, same problem. Old users of the same company can access the report through the app, with no problem.

Any idea what we could check, is it possible that something has changed?

Thank you

Daniele

Hi @daniele_tiles

Can youu make sure that this user has ONLY got a Power BI Free or Power BI Pro license.

Sometimes I have seen that a user has got both a Power bI Pro/Free and a Power BI Trail account. And the trail account is causing the issue.

Have a look and my blog post which I hope helps: Has your Power BI App been stuck in “Building App” state? I show one way to solve this. - Reporting/...
