I am the admins for our Azure AD/Power BI environment. We setup guest users by inviting them to our tenant and use dynamic groups to grant access to their workspaces. We have a workspace that is setup with a guest user security group in the Viewer role. Most of the guest users are able to access the workspce with no issue, but there are two guest users who are part of this user group that are getting the error below:
I have tried removing/re-inviting the guest users, and have confirmed that they are in the appropriate groups and have accepted the B2B invite, so i'm not sure why only these 2 users are having trouble getting in. This workspace is on a PPC license, so the users themselves dont need to be licensed for the Viewer role. Any help here would be appreciated
Thanks!
Hi @clayskinner
Can you confirm that those 2 users do have Power BI Free licenses assigned to their guest accounts in your Azure Active Directory?
Hi Gilbert,
Sorry for the delay, I had worked with PBI Support and thought we resolved this but we are now experiencing this issue again. But no, we do not assign PBI Free licensing to guests in our tenant, we have a large number of guests that are active (2k+) and typically they come with their own licenses for PBI. We do not experience this for most groups that we have created over a year ago, it seems to only be happening with new groups that we created recently.
