Exporting data

I want to publish a report created in PowerBI Desktp to PowerBI Service and export table data on the viewer side.
Only certain visuals do not show a toggle to export.
What could be the cause?

*We have a setting that allows exporting data.

Only certain visuals do not show the buttons in the following images.

Hello @ash_y,
Thank you  for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

If the "Export data" option is missing for only some visuals, This usually happens because of a few common reasons. Some visuals, especially custom ones, don’t support export. Try using basic visuals like bar chart or table and see if the option comes. Also, in Power BI Desktop, each visual has a setting to allow export. You can check it by clicking on the visual, going to the Format pane, and making sure the "Export data" option is turned on in the visual header. Sometimes, if your report is using row-level security or if export is limited to summarized data in admin settings, the button may not show. Try changing the visual type or checking the settings in Power BI Desktop, then publish again.

Hope the above provided information help you resolve the issue, if you have any further concerns or queries, please feel free to reach out to us.
Regards,
Harshitha.

Please clarify "certain".  Is that a  treemap visual?

Hello @lbendlin

Im sorry for the delay in responding.
This happened with the table visual, not the treemap.
The cause was that the header icon in the format pane was inactive.
Thank you for your reaction.

Hi @v-hjannapu

I have the same issue on published reports and may need a bit more help 😉 Fairly new to PowerBI.

By "Format pane", do you mean as shown below?

If so, where to go from here to turn on "Export data" option?

If not, where do I find the correct "Format pane"?

Regards

Carsten

Hello @v-hjannapu

Thank you for your response.
The header icon in the format pane was inactive.

By changing it to active, we are now able to export.

Thank you so much.
