We are trying to export a filtered Power BI report to PDF, but the Export to PDF feature is not respecting any of the slicers or filters, despite choosing the "use current values" option. I have tried tinkering with different settings like "don't allow users to change filters," locking filters/slicers, and ensured that values were consistent in the underlying Power Query, but with no success. Is there a known fix for this issue that I am overlooking? If not, is there a timeline for when Microsoft will fix this essential feature?
While we understand that Power BI Desktop could be used as an alternative, it does not meet our requirements. Based on previous community posts, this seems to be a recurring issue among users, so it is not entirely clear whether the issue is the Export to PDF feature or the underlying report itself.
TIA
Hi @AL_Robot , @A_Fin_Programme,
If your PDFs need to be uniquely filtered for each end-user, and if you are looking to set it on a regular schedule, then you will need to move to Poewr BI Premium capacity.
If that seems like overkill for your requirement and if you are open to using third-party solutions, BI Helper https://bihelper.tech may meet your requirement.
BI Helper is a popular and easy to use SaaS application that automates the generation and emailing of user-specific PDFs (with filters and slicers applied). It is secure, scalable and works with a Power BI Pro / PPU license for the sender. It doesn't require Power Automate or any other add-ons.
Please try disabling the option "Don't allow end user to save filters on this report." in Persistent filters.
Appreciate the response. Turning this option on and off does not seem to work with our report. This is one of the solutions I tried before with no success. I tried a combo of other settings to be sure, but still no output with filtered information.
