Excel: Get Data from Power BI and RLS

I have a power BI semantic model that is accessed with Excel: Get Data from Power BI. The underlying semantic model has RLS that funcitons in Power BI. Is there a way for the RLS to function in Excel when accessing data this way?

1)To use "anaylze in excel" I am picking that option from the semantic model. Is this correct? Visually, it looks identical to Excel: Get Data from Power which from my testing does NOT seem to maintain RLS. BI. I haven't tested "anaylze in excel" yet to confirm but seems like would have same funcitonality as Excel: Get Data. Maybe I'll be presently surprised? 

2) How do i create a "live connection". I have not yet found MS section that clearly explains this.

on the visual click the ellipsis (...) then export then Excel with live connection.

Only if you use "Analyze in Excel"  or "live connection".  If you exported the data then the RLS stops.
