I'm suddenly getting the following error: DataSource.Error: <ccon>Microsoft SQL: Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.. DataSourceKind = CommonDataService. DataSourcePath = xxxxxxxxxxx. Message = Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.. ErrorCode = -2146232060. Number = -2. Class = 11. </ccon>. The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. Table: Lead.

This is on a DataSource connection to Dynamics 365. I've manually refreshed each other connection - all of which are also to the same Dynamics 365 instance - with no problems. It is just the Lead table. 

I opened a fresh instance of PBI desktop and made a connection to the Lead table that is only connecting. (i.e. there are two lines, Source and Navigation). It too is failing; but all other connections I try work.

Nothing in the Lead table changed over the weekend. The first new row of data came in *after* the refresh failed for the first time today. 

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi @RoryB ,

The timeout of SQL command can be modified from SQL Server itself or tools like SSMS, but from Power BI, you could only change it from the SQL connector dialog. In Power BI service(app.powerbi.com), there isn’t an option to do the same setting. And the timeout specified in the connector will overwrite the setting timeout in the SQL database for the generated queries from Power BI service.
