Error when trying to connect Azure Purview with power bi

I am trying to scan power bi using Azure Purview. However, I am getting the following error:

Failed to enable the PowerBI administrator API to fetch basic metadata and lineage

Following are the details:

I have register power bi with Azure Purview. I followed a Microsoft article to configure scan with Power BI.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/purview/register-scan-power-bi-tenant?tabs=Scenario1

I followed all the steps mentioned in the article. In my case we have Azure Purview under Private Endpoint. But power bi is not. I used SHIR in my case as it is mentioned if Power BI or Purview is behind private endpoint. We need to use SHIR. I did all the required setting under power bi admin portal as well. Still getting the error. Please help here!!

Attempted to use Purview to scan PowerBI. Went throught all steps in the article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/register-scan-power-bi-tenant.  Passed the test connection. However, got this message while scanning.
"Error: (3913) JavaException: Java cannot be found. Please install and add to Path"

Is there required to install JDK 8 or later on Integration runtime server? Any instruction where to find the installation file and how to install?

At no point in this little checklist is there any requirement for Java.

Hi @SwapnilKamle ,

Please check all the details in it again. Are there any missing steps in it?

Scan same-tenant Power BI using self-hosted IR and Delegated Authentication in public network.

  1. Make sure Power BI and Microsoft Purview accounts are in the same tenant.
  2. Make sure Power BI tenant Id is entered correctly during the registration.
  3. From Azure portal, validate if Microsoft Purview account Network is set to public access.
  4. From Power BI tenant Admin Portal, make sure Power BI tenant is configured to allow public network.
  5. Check your Azure Key Vault to make sure:
    1. There are no typos in the password.
    2. Microsoft Purview Managed Identity has get/list access to secrets.
  6. Review your credential to validate:
    1. Client ID matches Application (Client) ID of the app registration.
    2. Username includes the user principal name such as .johndoe@contoso.com
  7. Validate Power BI admin user settings to make sure:
    1. User is assigned to Power BI Administrator role.
    2. At least one Power BI license is assigned to the user.
    3. If user is recently created, login with the user at least once to make sure password is reset successfully and user can successfully initiate the session.
    4. There is no MFA or Conditional Access Policies are enforced on the user.
  8. Validate App registration settings to make sure: 5. App registration exists in your Azure Active Directory tenant. 6. Under API permissions, the following delegated permissions and grant admin consent for the tenant is set up with read for the following APIs:
    1. Power BI Service Tenant.Read.All
    2. Microsoft Graph openid
    3. Microsoft Graph User.Read
  9. Validate Self-hosted runtime settings:
  10. Latest version of Self-hosted runtime is installed on the VM.
  11. Network connectivity from Self-hosted runtime to Power BI tenant is enabled.
  12. Network connectivity from Self-hosted runtime to Microsoft services is enabled.
  13. JDK 8 or later is installed.

Best Regards,
Gao
