Hi All,
I have a bunch of PowerBI paginated reports that were embedded into our internal third party service. Recently these reports stopped displaying on the third party service, with a "Failed to Generate Token Error". While some reports are working, others are not and we are unsure of the path forward to esolve this. The issue has been ongoing for the last 2 days now. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
When we try to generate a new embed token we receive a 500 internal error, source dataset not found error.
Thank you!

Hi @17armaanhussain,
Thanks for getting back and confirming you have tried the earlier steps really appreciate your patience.
Since the issue persists, it’s likely the embed token request is missing or pointing to an incorrect dataset reference. Please double-check the following:
The dataset linked to the paginated report still exists and is in the same workspace. The embed token request includes the correct dataset ID under the datasets section (especially for multi-resource tokens). The account or service principal used for embedding still has access to both the dataset and report.
Thank you again for using the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Hi @v-kpoloju-msft ,
We have tried the solutions presented but the issue is still eprsisting and our paginated reports are unable to be embedded.

Hi @armaanhussain,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum and for sharing the details and screenshot. Also, thanks to @lbendlin, for his inputs on this thread.
While temporary platform issues like an AFD outage can sometimes cause token generation errors, in this case the behaviour described “Failed to generate token / 500 internal error / source dataset not found” points more toward a configuration issue rather than a service outage.
This usually happens when the paginated report’s dataset isn’t correctly referenced during the embed token generation process, or when access permissions between the report and dataset workspaces have changed. Ensuring the dataset still exists, verifying the correct workspace permissions, and generating a valid multi-resource embed token with the required dataset references typically resolves it.

Try again after a while - this is likely still residue from the recent AFD outage.
Or if you don't want to wait - If you have a Pro license you can open a Pro ticket at https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/newsupportticket/powerbi
Otherwise you can raise an issue at https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues .
