Email subscriptions for reports and dashboards
Hi Experts,
I have a Pro License and my email domain ends with bhc.com, which allows me to subscribe to reports. However, I want to add my vendor, whose email domain is different from mine, to the email subscription list. Unfortunately, it does not allow external email IDs to be added as Email Recipients for subscribing to this report.
How can I add an external email to the Email Recipients for subscribing to this report?

Power BI Pro only allows email subscriptions to users within the same organization, meaning recipients must have an email address within your Azure Active Directory tenant (e.g., the same domain like bhc.com). This is why you're unable to add your vendor with an external domain to the subscription list.A possible workaround is to invite the vendor as a guest user through Azure AD B2B, assign them a Power BI Pro license (or confirm they have one), and share the report with them—after which they may be able to receive email subscriptions depending on your organization's sharing policies. Alternatively, you can use Power Automate to create custom workflows that send email alerts to external users based on data changes, though this would require some additional setup outside of the built-in Power BI subscription feature.

Hi puru85 It might be due to tenant settings that restrict adding external emails to Power BI subscriptions. Ensure "Share content with external users" is enabled in the Admin Portal. You can also add the vendor as a guest user in Azure Active Directory by inviting them through Azure Portal and ensuring they accept the invitation to access shared content. Consult your IT administrator for further assistance.
