Editing Datasets With Direct Query

I have a PowerBI dataset available to me that I would like to edit. I enabled direct query and click makes changes to the current model, but then when I click transform data there are no query's available to edit. I want to take a published dataset, make changes to certain columns in query editor and add excel/sharepoint files to the dataset.

Hi @ehickey456

When you create a report with a published dataset , there are no query's available to edit .

You will go directly to the edit page of the report and add some visuals. Because the data is obtained directly from the data source.

Hi,

I have a similar challenge to the above but mine is that I want to make changes to the measures in a direct query model in a report I have due to KPI changes. I can't get these done in power BI service.

How do I go about doing this?

Thank you.

Hi @ehickey456

When you are using DirectQuery you cannot make any changes because you are getting the data directly from the source. This is by design
