Dynamics BC connector - NULL error: will Microsoft fix it?
Hy guys,
I read here in the Forum that actually there is an error with the Dynamics Business Central's connector. If I've understood correctly, the possible solution would be to change the Power Query code (M) as follow:
Dynamics365BusinessCentral.ApiContentsWithOptions(null, null, null, null)
Replace with:
Dynamics365BusinessCentral.ApiContentsWithOptions(null, null, null, [UseReadOnlyReplica = null])
I did a test with a new report (pbix file), and by default the M code for this connector is still the first one (so by default an incorrect code is given).
My question is: does anyone know if Microsoft will solve the problem directly?
I think this is really dangerous for all the new reports, and at the same time we have teorically to change the single M code for the single table in the single report (this requires a lot of time..).
Thank you so much.
Best Regards
Massimo

If I may ask, Microsoft supposedly rolled out a fix COB 16-Sept but I am still unable to connect to the API to create new reports. This fix only works for existing reports but it means we are unable to connect to Business Central in order to create new reports or add new data tables to existing reports.
As of today, 17-Sept, this is still not working for me.

Hi @JS_UNI4C ,
yes, you're right. I think at the moment Microsoft solved only the "service" problem. It seems that the online refreshing is working now, but we have to wait for the offline solution.
Here you can check the updates for the problem:

Thank you for your post. This solved my problem. Not sure what Microsoft changed on their end over the weekend but this suddenly happened in all my Power BI files that had an auto-refresh schedule on Sunday evening this past weekend. So I'm assuming this affects everyone out there.
Why Microsoft would do this is beyond me but you found the solution. Thank you good sir!

Hi @JS_UNI4C ,
yeah, I know. I had the same problem with the 99% of our reports. I'm assuming this is a common bug with Dynamics Business Central connector. I hope that this bug is one of those mentioned by Microsoft that is currently being checked. At the moment, I keep getting errors for in-service refresh.
Best regards
Massimo
