I have a report that has a parameter in power query. It is a start date for my report to work from.
I would like to publish this to the BI service and then on the first of the month every month I want to run this report.
WHat I do not know how to do is to set this parameter to be the 1st of the previous month every month.
So on Feb 1st, I want this report to run and have the parameter be set to Jan 1st. On March 1st, I want the parameter to be set to Feb 1st and so on.
Is this possible?
Edit. In Dax I would do something like
= DATEADD(NOW(),-1,month)

Hi @SurfingData ,
It looks like you need to use incremental refresh, and in a refresh scenario this feature is more suitable for you.
Incremental Refresh and Hybrid tables in Power BI: Load Changes Only - RADACAD
When configuring incremental refresh in Power BI Desktop, you first create two Power Query date/time parameters with the reserved, case-sensitive names RangeStart and RangeEnd. These parameters, defined in the Manage Parameters dialog in Power Query Editor are initially used to filter the data loaded into the Power BI Desktop model table to include only those rows with a date/time within that period. After the model is published to the service, RangeStart and RangeEnd are overridden automatically by the service to query data defined by the refresh period specified in the incremental refresh policy settings.
